Flirty, fresh, and flattering on all skin tones, coral is the perfect multi use color. It works on eyes, lips, nails and cheeks, immediately brings warmth to the face, and makes a bold statement without going overboard.
Monochromatic makeup is having a huge moment right now, and—luckily for us—it’s surprisingly easy to pull off. There are, however, a few basic rules to keep in mind. When wearing bright colors in twos and threes, there’s a fine line between a soft, harmonious face and a mono-pigment overload. The key to achieving perfect balance is to play with opacity, texture, finish, and tone. A “monochromatic” look doesn’t mean applying the exact same hue on eyes, lips and cheeks—in fact, using slightly different shades within the same color family creates a more modern effect. Opting for sheer in one area and bold in another helps keep things harmonious. Here, we paired a shimmery, bronze-coral shadow with a super-subtle cream blush and a glossy, statement-making satin lip.
When going mono, keep the rest of your makeup barely-there and fresh (or forego it altogether). We prepped the skin with a little color correcting primer, and kept the face foundation-free. We recommend staying away from black eyeliner and heavy mascara, as they can be a little jarring against such a soft look.
