Her impressive client roster includes Academy Award winners, musicians, civil rights activists and indie film darlings.We caught up with Lauren Napier, and there are a few things that are super clear. There is beauty in taking it off.” Oh yes, we can get with that. Entrepreneurship + Innovation We understand you were on a flight from Dubai to New York City when you had the idea for CLEANSE. Tell us about that moment! I had been traveling for nearly 20 hours and was feeling hot, tired and slightly claustrophobic in my window seat. I wanted to freshen up, remove the last of my mascara and cool off a bit. I unfastened my seatbelt, then reached for my package of wipes. To my dismay, the package of wipes completely dried out, the cloth was bone dry and tough. At that moment I came up with CLEANSE by LAUREN NAPIER (not the name, but the concept). I wanted chic, individual packaging, a soft yet durable fabric, ingredients that were pure, gentle and effective. I became über focused, I even sketched out the packaging before landing! What's your superpower as a boss? My superpower as a boss...that’s a tough question. I am pretty hard on myself. CLEANSE by LAUREN NAPIER has been on the market for just over a year. In 14 months CLEANSE by LAUREN NAPIER has become an international brand and is now sold in 9 countries. We live in a global world and the need to be everywhere all of the time is a priority. In context of providing a mentoring tip for female entrepreneurs, young girls in school or women graduating from high school...how does one cultivate the confidence to full-on "go for it" in life? There is another quote that I love and that is, “She was unstoppable not because she did not have failures or doubts but because she continued on without them.” That is the story of my life. I endured plenty of failures, rejection, disappointments and stumbled many times along the way. How much time do we have? Instead of fearing my mistakes or being embarrassed (and there were some REALLY embarrassing moments), I accepted and embraced them. Without those missteps I would not be here. I think it is important to learn from your mistakes and allow them to empower you. We think our readers will be very interested in your thoughts. It was of the utmost importance to develop a business structure and foundation that empowered women, minorities and above all the American workforce and economy. I am a citizen of the world and do all that I can to protect the environment. It was a no brainer that I would support and embrace a manufacturing process that protected the environment. As the Lauren Napier brand grows it is my goal to cultivate a workplace that not only empowers but evokes a desire and an allegiance to come and work with me. I have had many jobs, it is a rarity to wake up at 6 am and say “Yes! I can’t wait to get to work! My job is awesome!” I want to create a place and product that people are proud to represent. I believe empowering the American workforce, economy, and environment. Minorities and women are individuals we can all get behind. If you could have a dinner party with 3 female artists, icons, politicians, authors, wellness aficionados, spiritual leaders, or any person alive today or not, who would they be and why? This is the best interview question! I have always wanted to host a fabulous dinner party, a table for 4 wouldn’t be nearly enough seats! I would want to invite Tina Turner, Former Texas Gov. Ann Richards and Joan Rivers. If any of the three weren’t able to attend I’d love to have a backup list: Iman, Diane von Furstenberg or Nora Ephron.
